I will try that as soon as the rain stops here, also, do I have to remove the center console in order to check power to radio head?

Yes, you'll have to take the centre console out to remove the radio - I don't think there is an easier way to get to the connections, but maybe someone else knows if you can get to the back of the radio from the side.

For the sat nav head unit access is pretty easy, the dash panel pulls out (from the bottom) and then there are four screws holding the sat nav unit in place (see photo below). The connectors are on the side of the sat nav unit.
