Noise in my trunk/boot
I recently replaced all four of my shocks including the insulators and upper shock mounts. I also replaced my front upper wishbone bushings, upper ball joints, sway bar end links and sway bar bushings. I have new tires and a fresh alignment. Now I hear a noise that sounds like something bouncing around in my trunk/boot, but there is nothing loose back there. I suspect something in the suspension. I’m open to suggestions. Thank you. 1997 XK8 convertible, LHD, non supercharged.
When do you hear the noise? On acceleration? Braking? Left hand turns? Right hand turns? Smooth roads, bumpy roads? Slow speeds, faster? Does it sound like it is coming from both sides or just one? Metallic clank? Dull thump or thud? Does it happen once or does the sound taper off (Like a sandbag hitting the floor or a baseball)? Is is cyclic or random?

Unfortunately there are so many things that it could be that you need to get underneath and have a good look / pry around.
You could try bouncing the rear corners up and down and pulling the rear wheels to and fro both on and off the ground but I wouldn't be very hopeful.
