Default Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

While picking up donated Pizza, A person in a Kia sedan decided not to turn their head to see what was behind them and BAM!!! they managed to hit my 1998 xk8, with 4ways going, trunk open in day light. the pass side Hreadlight is gone!! and the bumper cover is a mess.

I just got it out of the shop after having the cooling system rebuit, new HID light kits installed. I LOVE THE NEW LIGHTS but now I will need to replace the pass side already. 4 days old.

My Father inlaw just died Wednesday and my car is wrecked, I can't believe this is happening.

Guess I will see what the insurance company has to say Friday.

I know the feeling. Back in 2000 we had just bought a new Acura TL as my wife's car. We were in a gas station one day filling up and there was a mini-van at the pump across from us. The started to leave and for some reason was headed straight for the passenger door. It was like a slow motion nightmare. The van was just basically coasting real slow and we saw it coming but we were not able to get the driver's attention fast enough as the van crunched the door. The slowness of it and the fact that we were just sitting there minding our business was the most frustrating thing.

Sorry, this has been an awful week for you J.

I hope you are able to use the other guy's insurance company, not your own. Find the top recommended body shop in your area and do not let the insurance company force you to use their shop if you do not want to.

BVF,

A truly desperate week for you. There's times in life when the agony just seems to keep piling on.

Condolences for loss of FIL and sympathy over the XK8.

BigvetteFreak - "new HID light kits installed. I LOVE THE NEW LIGHTS"

Like to know a little more abour your experience with the HID's. I have a 2001 and would like to switch from Halogen to HID. At my age the more light I can get at night the better. Would have to adjust the LH Low Beam up, it is only good for hunting for fishing worms at night. That said, did you use a kit? Any problems with heat...

Sorry to hear about your FIL and additionally the damage...

First I installed 100watt bulbs and thought they were great compared to what was in the car but they stilll did not have a good spread of light, they also burned out in less than 6 months. They were like having two flash lights taped to the top of my fenders and there were two white dots on the road, not much more.

After I had the HID kit installed, I was shocked at how much area they covered and it was like day light in front of the car. I can't say enough good things about them. Really glad I deceded to install the kits. My mechanic said they were easy to install as well.

Just do a little shopping, because the same kit will go from $53 to over $80. dollars (ebay) and why waste money. Don't go any higher than 60000k or they will be Blue not white and Blue washes out alot of things at night so beware. The factory uses 4300k , 6000k is a little brighter white and really lights up the road without blinding other drivers. I have 6000k in my BMW as well they are great.

Hope that answers any questions you may have.

I am really sorry all this is happening to you. Sometimes bad things just seem to come in bunches all at once. I know this happens to me more offen than I care to remember. But then there are times when everything is going really great. I appreciate those times all that much more.
