The dealer boys may have more to say about this, but I wouldn't recommend it. We've had customers complain about engine ping and after long term use, losing performance.

Bluejay....keep using the 91. The lower grades will cause pinging and will be detrimental to the combustion chamber, plugs, injectors. Long term it is more expensive to use the lower grade fuel. Only a couple bucks extra for the tank fill up to use premium. Thats alot of fill ups to pay for lets say, injector rail. Jags always run better on premium fuel.

If you have an 18.5 gal gas tank like the S type the diff. between 89 octane and 91 octane is 10 cents a gal. thats $1.85 is that much of a saving worth it? I've been on highways were they ran out of 93 or 91
so I used 89 without any problem at the time. but i'll stick with the mfr. recommendations on what gas to use.

2 Cents / FYI

There are only two grades of raw gasolinelow octaneand high octane.
Themid-grade is mixed at the pump so that there is a price choice for the consumer.
Every thing else is just additives (anti-knock, stabilizers, cleaners, etc...) added when the delivery guy picks up fuel at the distribution center.

Raw gas +valero additives = valero gas
Raw gas + exxon additives = exxon gas

You get the idea.

I use high octane. My kitty likes it better.

And a happy kitty is a fun to drive kitty.
