Has any one tried to install a license plate in the front bumper tow loop to get the US plate away from the front grill?

The front plate on my XK8 (in the UK) really bugs me as well. I've tried stick on (above the 'mouth' - e-type style), at various heights within the aperture itself and below the chin as well as mocking up a square plate option on the overriders in Photoshop. The only option I really like is when I take it off completely (sadly, illegal). My current solution is that I have removed the overrider covers and screwed a stainless steel plate holder onto there. I can then easily remove it and put the covers back on for shows and displays, etc. Not perfect but a solution of sorts.
As far as the offset square option is concerned, I don't think I'm keen, but that's a purely subjective and personal opinion. It's your car, you do whatever you like and good luck to you buddy.
