Default Oh No!! The trouble has started!!

Well got the car out today as the temps were predicted to go to mid 60's and very sunny.

put about 100 miles on the car, stop and go through downtown, a 40 mile (total), drive out and back on the freeway to a facility we manage, a lot of back and forth around the office.

Car ran very well, ice cold air, (needed it!!)...BUT:

I hit a good bump on the highway and the rear view mirror fell off...held on by the electrical connection.

Embarrassing more than anything.

It has a little clip inside that appears to snap on, (it wouldn't), finally got it to slide in from underneath. She has held on the return trip back but I can see it happening again..and I don't want it to happen when my wife is driving.

Am I missing something here to reattach?

I knew I shouldn't have purchased a Jag...I am kicking myself all over again darn it...:-)

Is the button still attached to the windshield? Just the clip came loose from it? You can bend the two pieces of the clip a little closer together and they will hold a little tighter. If the button itself came off the windshield, then it will need to be glued back on. Honestly, I've never seen that with one of these cars, but I have heard of the clips coming loose and needing some adjustment, so I'm betting that is the case for you.

Bend the two metal flaps inward to fix it.

Side note: I've used this same image three times this week for different issues

Gus, one of our regulars and most helpful members, has a web page on this particular problem.

Have a look HERE and hopefully you can get it sorted out.

I think Westra nailed it.

I'll check out the link too, but does it slide on or snap on. EDIT: The Coupe, thanks just what I needed!!!

Can't wait to see what it drives like after I clean up the TB
