Ohh Nuts!!! Hazelnuts that is ...
Some furry critter apparently decided that the heater box would be an excellent place to store a couple pounds of hazelnuts for the winter. So far, that's what I've been able to vacuum out, using a foot long 1" by 1/8" wall clear poly tubing gorilla-taped to the end of a shop-vac. I have dug out a considerable amount of masticated nuts from the squirrel cage (no pun intended), but there is still considerable flotsam in the system .. sounds like a 1920 John Deere threshing machine if I crank up the heater speed, or God forbid, push in the Defrost button.
I have read the thread regarding loose foam, but I am hoping that someone might have a drawing/schematic of what's behind the dash .. the "plumbing" if you will, of the airway circuits. I just received shipment of a "Whistler WIC-3509P" remote cam to help in mitigating this fiasco. Best price I found at ATG Stores .. $199.99 no tax and free shipping. The $80 HF model is 1/2" .. the Whistler is only 9mm" diameter .. found re-branded for $347. Detachable wireless monitor .. records on micro-sd cards .. all the bells and whistles. I figure, with the way that the Jag is put together, chances are good other issues may arise which may be reconciled more easily with this tool. Cost is also justified by having 8 tractors, an F-350 CC 4X Lb 7.3 and an F-600 water truck.
The thread regarding the "foam" problem, was an XJ6 I think .. twin heaters?? Mine is a 2003 XK8 .. most certainly has a different A/C/H airflow circuit. Mayby get a micro-sd card for the Whistler, and make a video .. in case anyone else lives next to a creek where hazelnuts are native and grow wild.
TIA .. Have Fun .. Be Safe

The orginal thread on the foam problem was a XJ. The layout is *very* similar.

The "Whistler" I quoted above has a mini-USB port, like a Passport drive, for live viewing on a monitor or laptop, as well as a micro-SD slot for video or stills storage. Why one would need a 9mm diameter snake only 2.5 feet long for plumbing .. is most likely an x-gen at amazon making it up as he/she goes along. NAPA would be happy to sell you one re-branded for $347 and on up.

Gotta ask .. if the XJ has two fans for both driver and passenger, how similar could that be to an XK which has one? Thanks for the encouragement .. gotta drawing? :-)

...then air is drawn through an air particle filter (where fitted) and into the air conditioning unit via the blower interconnecting ducts in the LH and RH blower assemblies.
Thanks plums. I read the thread on JTIS in W7 .. I am currently building a new box with an i7 2600k (Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3).. and .. W7x64 ... gonna tackle getting winfile.exe (32bit from NT4)) working w/o admin permission every instance first. Man .. this thing has two fans!!! ... There's barely enough room for the sun-glasses compartment over my left knee.
If there is any consolation, at least with hazelnuts, everything I need to get out is less than 3/4" in diameter .. unlike chunks of foam. Maybe I'll pull the downloads in into this 32bit box (P4PE XPpro sp3)) and meet with some success. Thanks again plums ..
