Can some one please tell me what a reasonable shop time is for replacing an
Oil Cooler hose from the engine, please?

This could be anything from 1hr to 3hrs. It really depends how easy it is to get the pipe disconnected from the cooler, I have even had to take the front bumper off once before.

The mechanic charged me 3 hours. I thought it was excessive.

 

Like I said really depends on how easy it came apart....The longest I ever had was actually on my own, after about 5 hours I took a hack saw to it and threw the cooler across the shop floor and decided then to do my own set up of a sort that can easily be taken apart.

 

Its an pia and is a 3hr shop charge. Replace both, if ones dry rotted and leaking the other will be right behind. That 3 for both
