After getting new tires and replacing shock mounts, another issue pops up! My 2003 XKR is leaving drips of oil on the ground, I believe the leak is coming from a line that sits above the oil filter. I don't see any easy way that I could replace it myself, might have to take it to a professional for this one. Can you guys help identify the part? Picture below, thanks!
Oil leak on the circled line, sits above the oil filter
Stran0020,
It's position and appearance suggest it is the power steering feed pipe MJE3999AA which is routed to/from the oil cooler (see item 15 in pic).
Check your power steering oil reservoir - see if level has gone down....
In fact, the leak may be coming from the aged Norma connector (female connector) at the end of the hose C2N2127 (see item 9 in pic). I think this may include the whole oil cooler as an assembly. This is a known issue. See this similar thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ose-id-249060/
If it is indeed a leaking Norma connector in your power steering fluid line, the best repair option is to cut that Norma connector completely out and replace it with the appropriate brass hose barb and a short segment of new hose. That will permanently fix it. These plastic Norma connectors were a lousy choice when it comes to longevity. The more of them you can eliminate from the various fluid systems in these cars, the better off you will be....
