Default Oil Pressure light Constantly illuminated

While driving my '06 XK8 at night, I noticed the small oil pressure light, upper left, illuminated, dimly. Later during the daytime, it was still on, but very dim. During this time the oil press. was at or above normal. This is a "Real Gauge" unit, so I am confident the pressure is good. Oil is full and clean.
Has anyone else experienced the problem?

If it's like the 2002 try reaching down the front of the engine on the RH side just in front of the alternator (remove breather and air filter from top - remove nothing if working from under with a LITTLE jacking up) area and you may find 2 plugs, wire connectors and the associated wiring. It may just be wiring and dirt plugs so pull them both off (I think the dummy light has 2 wires while the pressure sender has just 1) clean and replace. If the problem persists (or God forbid the damn head of the sender just kind falls off - which it can) replacing them is easy,,, especially if your willing to jack the front end up just a bit and do it from the bottom. I think they are both 17 or 19mm sockets. Turn old one(s) out and new one(s) in. A little oil will flow. They're pretty cheap parts.

i just had the opposite yesterday on the first start up of the new year. Oil light went out immediately and the Real Gauge controlled pressure read failed to register. Turned off even though the engine sounded fine and on restart it registered the expected cold oil pressure. Might have become air-bound while sitting as the kit's adapter "T" can drain back over time.

Was rather funny as i was moving the car early for a neighbor who needed my yard for ladder access to her roof. Figured that no good deed ...

All is well. Nice to have backup for the backup.

Now for that wetness that i found on the driver side carpet. Humm ...
