Has anyone had an issue with their oil press. going irratic while driving?

it for my 85 XJ6 I've noticed that when I am driving the oil pressure gauge jumps around between 0 and 50 normally when sitting at idle it is just below 40 and when driving it's generally just past 40 the last time it did this it was low on oil however i just topped it off so it has me a little concerned. Also I've noticed that I am loosing oil but I don't have a spot under the car so I can't figure out where or how I'm loosing oil all of the seals on my car have been replaced. Help

 

Does the OIL LIGHT (low pressure) come ON?????????

There are 2 'senders'. Oil pressure transducer and oil pressure switch.

Sounds like the transducer is failing????

The oil light only came on once and the oil was low at that point other than that it hasn't come on. The switches that your describing where are they located?

 

They are on the block, forward of the oil filter housing.

Motorcarman, My problem is I can't find gauge sender. Top of oil filter has two hoses to radiator have dummy lite sender only have looked every where .?? Two pole sender ??
