Default Omg! What was I thinking!! A miata!!

Well, I was totally out of my mind but a neighbor pulled a 93 white Mazda Miata out of his basement and put a for sale sign in it this weekend.
I made the mistake of asking what he wanted for it and he said 800.00 it lookd amazingly in good shape from the outside but the interior had been wet for a long time and has a bad mold problem. Needless to say, gutting the interior!!
I kept walking but couldn't get that car out of my head!! When I saw it the next day, I realized why I liked it. It's a baby XK8! ( I know, it's SOO not)
But, 700.00 later, it's now sitting beside my black beast XK8!
I'm going to totally chav it out and make a true baby XK8!!!!! It's my own inside joke!! I mean down to the jaguar badging, mesh grille, redoing the interior. I'm just totally going ape s%#t crazy with it!! AND a leaper in polar white!!
I want to badge it a MXK5 !! And what about a MAZUAR?!?!?!
I mean really. If it wouldn't be the funniest thing in the world!! I've got boxes of jaguar trim pieces and badging, oh, and he even bought a faux burl wood dash kit for it he never installed!! Who could do it but a Jaguar owner!!!
I'm looking for you guys to tell me some cool, things to really make this a CRAZY messed up car!! But really Jaguar!! Hopefully someone will give ma a seriously good idea or two, not just the expected razing!!
OH, this is SO going to happen!!!!

No.

Strip it down to the essentials, make it your track car. You'll thank me later.

I live to modify cars visually!!
I'll say it again! It's a total messed up idea that I MUST do!! He was going to junk the car and I'm really not doing anything that can't be taken off and put back miata!
That being said, Lets embrace the crazy here and laugh our ***** off!!

Phil,
Honestly, I don't agree with all of your ideas but I've always appreciated your spirit and enthusiasm. I get you completely on this one, and you have my vote. Go for it, and have fun.

Seriously, most of my crazy thoughts won't even make it to the car! But I am going to dress it up a bit, a mesh grille, use the wood dash kit, recover doors and as many surfaces with stitched leather (I used to do car interiors so I have the sewing machine) upgrade sound system, custom cloth top with headliner. Thinking about a black leather and navy blue suede interior. Since its white, I'm thinking black wheels, and possibly the small fender diagonal stripes in blue and black. I'll probably de badge the whole car.
I hate to admit I've missed a straight drive car!!
Although I do have an extra growler badge!!

Ha! I just moved my wife from a Miata into an XK8. I would have to agree with giandanielxk8, it makes one helluva autocross car.

philhef... that is a pure stroke of genius! I think that you'll have fun with it and confuse a few people on the road. Haaaah! You won't have a whole lot of money in it... do whatever you want! The worst that could happen is that you get tired of it and sell it on eBay in their 'kit car' section. You'd probably break even.

The silly thing is that some of my female friends think that the bozillions of Miatas in town ARE Jaguars... like mine! I just shake my head.

Go for it!!

There is already a BMW kit for the Miata.. A XK kit for the Miata would be something!

Why not just call it a XK5?

For $3,900, The M in This BMW Is For Miata

I cannot wait for the pics!

Turn it into a modern day Cobra.
Flyin Miata Mazda MX-5 V8 - A V8 Powered Miata is a Small Viper - Road & Track

There are a thousand and one V8 conversions for a Miata, each more ridiculous than the last.

I used to have an MX5 before the XKR. I enjoyed it for a few months, but sold it on buying the Jag because it felt like a toy and I found I never actually used it for anything. The handling was by far the best I have had on any car, but it was down on power (140hp) and suffered from the same problem that all convertibles I have tried suffer from: it's either too hot, or too cold to put the roof down.

Yep. Used to be common back in the day. Still around in smaller numbers.

Hah! Quite true, but it's MY beaver tail. That makes it cooler, faster, more energy efficient (making the car capable of getting over 1000 gph), AND the downforce generated at 250 mph will allow me to drive straight up the sides of buildings without worrying about losing traction.

I'll agree with giandanielxk8 and Tommy make a track car out of it. or drop a V-8 in it. At least the price was right and the smaller the car the easier they are to work on.
