Default Optimum Supercharger Hose Length?

Howdy folks:
I am getting ready to do the syringe method supercharger oil drain and change in a couple of days. I understand the difficulty of not getting the hose in far enough. I did a trial run and put the hose in what I thought was "to far", so I measured it when I took it out. (about 7 1/2"). Is there an optimum insertion length to get the ~7oz. out?
Many thanks.

I did this two weeks ago and struggled with the same question. The length you describe sounds about right but what I ended up doing was using a tube that was a fair bit longer than needed and vacuumed at several depths until I pulled air at each one.

That seemed to work pretty well, and when I refilled it took right at 7oz so I reason that I got most of it out.

Howdy CC & Folks:
I just did mine tonight. I tried different insertion lengths up to 13", but found that after sucking air, I was able to get the last 1-1/2 oz of 7oz at around 6".

At 62K mi., I was somewhat shocked at how dark the old fluid was. (The new stuff is clear)
Lifetime fluid or not, I will not go that long again.

Sounds very similar to my experience, the stuff was the color of coffee and had an AWFUL acrid smell about it.

Whenever I hear "lifetime oil" I always wonder whose life they were talking about.

One of our plastic manufacturers offers a "Lifetime Warranty" At the trade show we started talking about the warranty and their idea of Lifetime is seven years, Go figure.
