Has anyone seen an XK8 with a painted blade instead of chrome? I am waffling between getting a decent chrome one, or just painting it black to match the car.

Also, how about the little bumper thingies that attach to it?

 

The pieces for the front blade and bars are held on with Plastic FIR Tree fasteners. I have attached a blow up of the parts diagram and a photo I took for another forum member of the head of one of the Fir Tree fasteners. I think they are a one time use and you just shear off the head to remove. SNG and JagBits both carry them.

 

With a black car painting the overriders and chrome splitter would basically make them disappear.

I remember a photo of a members overriders painted body color, metallic blue, and they looked great.

Have you considered going with an XKR Grill if you want to remove the splinter
