It's not perfect but it's better then what my original looked like.

 

I share in your accomplishment in that I did a tri-shield Buick hood emblem under a magnifying glass and cleaned it up with a razor knife nearly 20 years ago.

 

I had a relly crappy paint brush and I couldn't manage to get rid of all of the glue on the emblem off before I started painting. Close up well it doesn't look great but from driving distance or a few feet away it looks descent. Maybe I will have another go at painting it in a few years but for the moment I am fairly happy with it. A magnifying glass would have been a good idea and a smaller paintbrush with intact bristles would have helped a lot.

 

Oh,,for a brush, with my teeth I somewhat separated the fibers at the tip of a toothpick.
