Painting/Powdercoating stock 97 rims
I'm not a fan of the stock 17" 97 rims on a darker colored car (nor many of the other XK8 rims in fact) but just picked up a set for nearly the price of scrap that I'm thinking of refinishing in a darker charcoal gray shade or maybe even black. Just curious if anyone else has done their a different color and if so got a pic?
Perhaps a good place to ask a question about powder coating and aluminum wheels . . . .
I have heard that the 350 - 400 degree F. required to cure the powder is detrimental to the aluminum to the the point that it is advised against.
Anyone have information rather than opinions?

Don't know about powdercoating, but check out phil's thread. He had his rims painted Dorchester gray.

link to the pics. I like 'em as I think they're understated and encourage you to look at the car rather than the wheels.
