Pandora’s box opened for rust repair
I thought I would share some pics of the recent bodywork project on my 2004 XKR. Usual rust problems around the rear arches and above the rear bumper. As always it was a lot worse than what you could see and it spent 70 hours in the panel / fabrication shop even before paint. Work was performed within 4 weeks by ‘The Body Centre’ of Norwich and what an amazing job they did! Hopefully it keeps another XKR on the road for a bit longer.
They did a good job by the looks of it. I need to get mine sorted at some point, it's my daily car though so that isn't easy. I plan to get a Lexus LC500 when prices come down and then get the XKR sorted in one go but by then it will probably be pretty bad but that is OK because I will treat it like a classic at that point onwards only being used in dry conditions and for holidays and weekend blasts probably. Probably use it in the summer as a work commute car when it's dry.
This years project the BBS Montreal allow refurb. New SS air valves & caps. Outer bands. Also calliper rebuild with new seal kit and colour code to the car body colour. They even re did the previous decals.
