Default Pat yourselves on the back

Hi Guys;

Haven't posted here in a while; actually since Mr. J. Senior went to a new owner, and my X-Type became the only Jag in the driveway. A recent recurrence of my temporary insanity, however, has resulted in the appearance of a Vantage V8 in the driveway; no problems yet (touch wood) but BELIEVE ME, there is nothing resembling this Forum available to Aston Martin owners. Knowing that Jim, Steve, The Rev, and many others of you were just a keystroke away made me pretty fearless with the '8'. You are a great bunch, and please let me know if you ever plan to open an A-M branch office! Wot The Heck, I may pick your brains anyway.

Isn't that almost or identical to a XKR running gear? S/C'd V8 of course. What size V8 is it? Also, what year car? One of our customers has a 98' vantage Laguna edition. It has a 3.6 S/C'd straight 6 in it (factory engine) and the factory suspension is that of a XJS!

No, this is a different animal completely. The engine is AJ-sourced, but it is normally-aspirated, and the chassis is an aluminum & composite, shortened version of the DB9. It's an '07

Thanks for the kudos you give to this forum, we do our best to help where n when we can, don't know if we'll be much use to you with the Aston?
Having said that I'm sure we may have one or two members who also own Astons, so who knows

All my best
