Default A Milestone!

I drove it 10 miles today and nothing broke! Nothing that I noticed anyways. This is the first trip its made since I got it back on the road where multiple things didn't upchuck. Even the fans didn't make the siren noise (probably because they are seized by now). The top even went down and back up! Now I just got to fix the P0441 problem and I can try and sell this damn thing!

I was resetting my radio's tone controls today because a recent dealer service visit involved them doing a hard reset. Part of my hand must have pressed the 'top down' button because it started to raise. I knew that I should complete the 'down' movement before trying to put it back up. I hadn't put it down for a year and was delighted that I was able to complete the down/back up cycle without triggering a green shower in the process.
Whew!

Media,

Always nice when the green rain does not make an appearance.

Just FYI, there's no need to complete a "lower top" operation if bumping the switch causes one to begin. You can just as well rock the switch back the other way and close the top from whatever position it's in. (Sometimes a complete cycle as you suggest can help if the system has gotten confused and is not acting as it should.)

Oh, and Congrat's to Dave. What a saga!

I need to make my bi-monthly 300 mile RT to see my cancer Doc Nov 11 but it will be cheaper for me to rent a car as the last 2 times I went there in the Jag came back on a rollback. That was twice as much as a car rental costs. Not to mention the hassle.

Might it be more practical to find a much closer doctor?

The closest would be something like Duke which is still a bit away. But I used to live in Petersburg near where this Doc is and I use the trip as an excuse to visit with old friends there that I would rarely see otherwise. If it wasn't for that I would look into a new Doc. What would really be practical would be for me to dump this Jag and get a reliable car. I've been look at cheap beaters the last 2 months and have looked at over 20 cars and called about dozens more but it seems really hard to find something reliable when you only have about $1500 to spend.
So as soon as I get the current problems ironed out the Jag goes up for sale.

Would never touch one of those damn things.... I've never driven a "normal" car in my life actually.
