Pay so much money just to spend alot more
Man there cars suck so bad i'm gonna cut my losses and sell this tempermental biatch. Any one what to buy my 1998 xk8 with 130,000 miles $4,000
Sorry for your experience, but you can't buy ANY car with over 100,000 miles (or even 50,000) and not expect that it will need some repairs. Before you buy it, you have to realize that a Jag is going to cost a lot more and be a lot more difficult to fix than a Camry. You want to date a pretty girl, you gotta pay! You want to date a plain Jane, you can take her to Golden Corral. (sorry ladies, just an analogy, not meant to offend)
My wife looks like Heather Locklear and I take her to Golden Corral all the time...am I doing something wrong??
To the OP - these cars are not for everyone. Cut your losses and move on to something that is satisfactory to you....not worth the agony when the fit isn't there.

My aunt's lexus SC430 has had twice the problems my car has had, with half the miles.. There are pluses though.. The complimentary lexus she gets when something goes wrong is awesome, she pays for it though...big time.
My last three cars were all Porsche 928's, this car is a zero hassle car compared to one of those(even though I liked working on them).
An old car is not for everyone. If you know simple mechanics, you save big money and get the pleasure of working on your own ride(instead of having to pay someone to do so).

Thanks for all your help and gus get a life would ya!!!!! lol just kidding your a great guy thanks for your help when I had problems before. These cars just are to tempermental. One day it runs great and next day I get restricted b/s . I'll goto work and even go home for lunch ( cause I live close by lol) and car would be fine, then get in to go home and it doesn't want to start It's just craziness and for the $ that some one paid it's just not worth the hassel much less the $ it cost to fix them geesh. I really believe that Jaguar engineers purposely put cheap but expensive parts just so they're dealships can make money cause they don't sell manny cars. because even the interior is made cheap except for maybe the wood , but carpet and seats are cheap and so are alot of the switches made in china or something I don't know. But thanks all

I wish I could help you out, but too many miles for me for the money. I couldn't even make a parts car out of it with that mileage.
I see you went up from $4000 then to $4500 now. Looks like you're calming down a little, that's a good thing!

Back in the early '90's my old boss had a MB 300E, practically every time he took it is for normal service, they would find something to do and I swear he never left the dealer for less than $1,000. It just goes with the territory of high end european vehicles.
