Pebble Beach Auto Week

Pebble Beach Auto Week
I had never been to the Auto Week or the Concours d'Elegance and it was on my car guy list of things to do at least once. Unfortunately we weren't able to take the XKR but it was a very nice weekend none the less. Definitely an entertaining experience and there are TONS of events and pick up car shows around every corner. The parking lots were often as interesting as the show's themselves.
I thought I would share some pictures from in and around the event for those forum members that might be interested.
Enjoy
Many rare and unusual vehicles
There was some nice body work on display
It was nice to see that there were some well kept original cars too
Only one Jaguar in the Concours itself... although it was the first LHD XK120 ever built
Corporate Jaguar made a good showing though outside the event
You don't see detailing like this any more
But there was some advanced technology on display, including fully adjustable suspension damping, with resolution down to the city you are driving in
This year was a tribute to Carroll Shelby and there was an entire section of Cobras on display
There was also an area for the cars of the Maharajas
Those Maharajas had some wacky taste
The new Vanquish was on display in the concept paddock. The color is a bit much for my taste but I wouldn't kick it out of my garage.
There was also a neat cutaway car... wow that's a lot of carbon fiber
The parking lots has as much in them as any of the shows
The Tour de'Lemons was an amusing side event with some nice and not so nice cars
British sports cars
European Grand Touring
and American Muscle
On top of all that, Monterey isn't a half bad place to visit
