Default Pinging after hard start

Turned over the cat the other day and it was a hard start which I have been told may have been associated with a dying battery. I have addressed that issue but while the car was idling I noticed a slight ticking from the drives side front area of the engine. Any thoughts or concerns?

Either VVT or serpentine belt. I have aslight VVT tick on occasion, but nothing to worry about. A forum search will turn up many threads on the subject.

Have the upper tensioners been changed to the metal type ... if not, that would be something to worry about.

Thanks everyone. The tensioners have not to my knowledge been changed. After reading about them i am planning on having upper and lower and a few other things done sometime in April prior to good weather riding season.
