Default Thanks to Forum Members.

I just needed to say what a great job EVERYONE has done on this forum. I was purchasing my first XK8 this weekend and because of the huge knowledge base available on this forum I was confident I could make an educated decision, and I think I did.
I did not buy the XK8 yesterday due to the fact of numerous issues which I knew to look for thanks to the forum members. They hid the problems with this car pretty well.
I will now be picking up instead, a 2000 XK8 convertible, one owner, absolutely pristine, with only 56000 miles, in a wonderful British Racing Green.
Everyone that has ever posted on here, thanks again, you saved me a lot of money and headache. I'll have questions with the new Jag, but I know where turn.

Doug,

(I've moved your post from XK/XKR 2006 onwards to XK8/XKR 1996-2006 forum)

Good to hear the information available on the forum has helped you to avoid a potential problem vehicle and find the right one.

Hope you enjoy your XK8 Convertible.

Graham

Great to hear you find you have been helped and managed to get the car you really want Doug, hopefully with few issues moving forward.

Thank you for taking the time to add your "Thanks" post here for the memberbase, much appreciated.

Hope to see you around the forum.

Happy motoring

Jim

After your intro I was searching the forums to see if you ever picked up your XK8 when I found this post. Sorry for your delay, but I can't wait to see pics of your new selection when you get it home!

Just picked up the Jag. Only question I have is why didnt I get one of these years ago? This car is awesome, quick, responsive, agile, elegant and oooooo those lines. I'll post some photos as soon as the weather in SC cooperates. Now, do we use synthetic oil in the 4.0 or the old stuff?

I use the "old stuff" in my XKR, and the engine runs stronger now at 135,000 miles than when I got it at 62,000. I guess I'm a little more aggressive driver than the elderly gentleman from which I bought the car, and it has learned a little more about my driving habits.

Thanks Tberg. I always ran synthetic in my truck but I used fossil oil in my Z28. I never seen a difference. I just don't know what the Jag likes to drink. (my first one) And might I add, that's a beautiful XKR, I'll have one of those this summer.
