Default plastic brembo brake covers

has anyone tried these plastic covers that glue on to your original calipers ...that you can get on ebay or are they "rubbish"
they make your brakes look as if you have brembo brake calipers but are only covers.

I don't glue them, I drill, tap and mount with screws. They're obviously plastic, but look better than stock calipers. At least one tech saw them and was completely fooled even up close. I showed him they were just plastic covers and he ordered a set.

Default Caliper Covers

Another option is MGP caliper covers, I'm just suggesting to take a look, some like, some don't. I use them on my Mustang, and think they look great, they have different colors.

I have done them a couple of times, not 'my cup of tea' but a cheap option,
I actually gave this set away on the understanding I only charged him to fit them

I use one of the original bolts, I drilled it out and then tapped into the caliper and bolted it on with a stainless button head, makes for easy removal and maintenance

I installed a set of red ones on my calipers. I used the glue method. The glue that comes with the calipers is surprisingly strong. However, after about 6 months one of them was loose, so I took it off. I was going to glue it back on, but within a week the other one on the same side came off and disappeared. I still have the two on the other side of the car, but I need to take them off. It looks kinda silly having fake Brembos on one side and stock calipers on the other.

I was actually afraid to tell anyone here because I didn't want to be ridiculed! LOL! But now that I know other's have done it, or are thinking of it, I guess I can "come out".

I like Steve's screw idea. I think Ill order another set and screw them in place. They are only about $20, and unless you look closely, you can't tell that they are fake. I just wish they didn't say "Brembo" on them. It would be nice if they were blank, then I could get some Jaguar decals and put on them.

This thread got me thinking. I'm thinking about ordering a set of black covers, putting them on my belt sander to get rid of the "Brembo" logo, and then repainting the entire cover gloss black. The covers are just painted, by the way, the actual plastic is a light gray color. So I'll then repaint them black, then go to a local print shop and have them cut me some silver vinyl "JAGUAR" logos to apply to the calipers. After sticking them on the calipers, I'll repaint the entire caliper with Plasticote gloss clearcoat. That way I'll have a decent looking caliper that doesn't have the cheesy "Brembo" logo on it.

Reverend, I was going to do that and have all the parts lying around now actually. The calipers don't have the logo, and I took off all the metal "bits" so they're ready to be repainted. I even have the "jaguar" decals.

If anyone wants it for a project 20$

I test fitted them on the XK without brembos and they do fit. The set I got has the appearance of the brembos but they are just gloss red - "brembo" decal isn't applied (although it does come with the kit). I got 2 "Jaguar" caliper decals instead I was going to put over them but never got around to it - so if anyone wants it let me know!

PM's answered.

By the way, here's a pic of the jag decals you can source in some spots online. I think they look quite nice on the caliper.

Also interesting is the fact that the new XKR's actually use a "caliper cover" as well - a sort of plate with the XKR logo on it to fill out the stock calipers. I inquired at the dealer, and they want about $200 a piece, fyi

See "R" plate, screwed into caliper

See "jaguar" plate on new XKR:

Hehe Just for the record, the OE 'big-brake' calipers on 2003+ cars look like this:

My 2006 has these.

I hate to bump this thread from the grave. But this is the only actual place that I came up when searching on Google for "screwing on brembo brake covers"
No other related searches that I came across provided the information of someone actually screwing them on. Only on this forum.

I quoted this because I am curious to know how this can be done.
I want to add the covers but no way do I want to glue them on.
Does anyone know how I can do this? Or a photo explanation on how to go by on doing this?

I would more than highly appreciated it. Thank you so much.
