I read some of the entries in this forum and have not seen this problem addressed.
My power mirrors only go one direction, up and out. Once out, I have to move them manually back into position.
I tried to pull the mirror out to look at the motor inside and it is so tight I am afraid it will break.
Any ideas?

 

Mine do the same thing. I believe it's the switch for me as drivers goes out not in and passengers goes in not out. Doesn't really bother me because neither me or my wife move them as we both use the in the same spot.

 

I agree, usually it is a dirty switch. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...control-63646/ for a rebuild technique (Caution lots of small bits that can easily get lost).

 

My drivers side power mirror won't move. I'd like to try to clean it. Can any one please describe how to access mirror.

 

I was able to access mirror. To push mirror all the way out, the original mirror position need to be folded in. It was very dirty inside. I'm now fighting to close the access panel and try it out.

 

Works like a charm!
