Default premium audio replaced, can I power the Navigation?

In the middle of replacing the head unit on my 2003 XK8 Coupe with the premium audio system. I'm replacing the amplifier, and am curious if there is a way to continue to use the navigation? I don't expect audio, and will probably just use it for the clock (until I get the three gauge conversion). I've read solutions for this in other posts, but not specifically for the premium system. I've got the wiring diagrams, and it's not obvious: there are a lot of connections from the premium amp to the NAV...

Thanks! Steve

Steve, there is a yellow 26-position connector that went to your original headunit. Find the orange wire at position 8 and splice that to +12v. This should allow you to turn on the navigation system again.

You are the man! I'll try that - is that switched(ignition) or constant 12v?

Thanks (again!), Steve

I am not certain, but I would err toward the ignition switched source first, to avoid a possible unwanted battery drain. If that does not work seamlessly when the car is turned off and back on, then go try the constant 12v.

That did the trick, and I've now got the display showing the clock. None of the buttons on the nav do anything, and the clock time is wrong... I'm going to dig and see if anyone has figured out how to bring the nav more alive - at least enough to let me get the time right.

Welcome to my world. Every 6 months I have to put the clock forward or back an hour.
I whip out my iPod head until. Connect the original Jaguar head unit and the nav powers up.

I'm sure there's probably a way to wire a switch. Anyone know how?
