First, my apologies, I have been lurking around over time but just not positive I have the info I need, and get more confused every time I search.

OK Faith is a 99 XK8 vin SAJGX2045XC032381, 42K miles now. I believe she has the original tensioners, original water pump, original t-stat housing. I am fixing to order tensioners and gaskets, water pump, t-stat and housing, belts, belt tensioner (seems noisy) air cleaner, plugs.

I have neighbors who are great independent mechanics that will do the work for me with my parts.

I'm paranoid about getting the correct parts.

This is an AJ27, correct? The Ford tensioners and bolts work for me? It seems from all my reading the 99 was in various states of transition thru it's production so I'm unsure.

Aside from replacing proactively these weak links and cleaning throttle body and MAF, any other recommended items while she's down for a week?

PLEASE CREATE LINE BREAKS!

I had coolant hose issues. Check the expansion tank as they tend to leak underneath, check the octopus hose as well we found leaks there. Minor leaks but caused coolant smells.
Btw, I gotta get me one of those Mexican leapers!! Love that pic!!

interesting thread, I tried the vin identifier but got nothing, is this just for U.S vehicles?
My VIN SAJJGAED3AH042585 does not come back with any results. Anyone know of why this is or how I can check my car using a similar application?
Kind regards,
ArtyH

Well finally got it all ordered, I've decided to park her till it's all done, making a lot of noise at the front of the engine, not a rattle or chain noise but bad whine and growl, seems belt/roller to me, hopefully not related to the alternator or compressor, but definitely front of engine between 2500-3500 big whine going on, so she's in time out.

I was really surprised on how cheap I got all the parts! Tensioners and bolts from Sunroad ford online was 122.00 before freight

From Rockauto ordered Felpro gasket set, water pump, thermostat, t-stat housing, brakes all 4 wheels, belt, belt idler, plugs, air filter all for 277.00

400 bucks plus some labor, and probably swap printing them a few shirts and she will be all sorted!

Now, gotta find a paint-less dent guy to fix the quarter panel that got attacked by a shopping cart............
