I'm sure there have been a few posts on this over time, about members who have had this issue and also have stored their cars over winter.

If you do a search on "storing for winter" or such like these posts will pop up and I'm sure you'll find them helpful.

I'd say that some of the knowledgable guys that can help will be along and answer soon I'm sure.....

Sorry I can't help more....

coarse steel wool packed into the exhausts and the cold air intake under the car just to the right of center of the motor are the most attractive spots for mice to crawl into. Moth ***** scattered around the interior seem to help, and the smell dissipates ina day or so with the top down/windows down in the spring. If the car is stored someplace that pets can't get to it, a package of commercial rat/mouse poison at each wheel will deal with them at the points they are most likely to climb up onto the chassis.

just remember to remove that steel wool before starting the motor I'm going to try tying dryer sheets over the exhaust tips, supposedly rodents dislike the smell and if I forget to remove them in the spring, it shouldn't cause a problem as they'll just blow off.

Here's a deterrent that I've used the last couple of years. It has a pleasant smell and if you get enough in your garage it will keep them out. I place one in the engine compartment the interior and the trunk. The moth ***** leave a terrible smell afterwards.

Or if you're a dog person:

My min pinscher keeps away all the rodents be it mice, chipmunks, squirrels, you name it. I live in an area with bigger animals too like racoons, deer and bears and we get significantly less animals on our property than our neighbors - I guess the big ones can't tell the size of the little guy, just that it's his territory!
