Default Private Sale Value 01 XK8?

I lost my job and I'm going to sell my XK8, hate to do it but I need the payment off my books. Anyone have any private sale experience with what I can sell it for?

01,xk8, coupe
-I got rear ended with a couple scratches it was fixed and repainted.
-Only 2 owners including myself.
-immaculate interior but needs roof felt replaced, it's held in place by clear tacks.
-60k miles
-Michelin Pilot Sport 2s, less than 2000 miles on them
-hydra chrome rims
-all trunk accessories mint unused, lightweight spare tire
-Metal Tensioners.
-drove it for a few months never had any problems with it.

Used car private sales are what ever the two parties agree upon. I would start by checking the KBB.com and EDMUNDS.com sites for the big picture. I also 'watch' a number of eBay offers to keep abreast of what things are really selling, or not selling for. A high percentage of the eBay offers are never completed because of too high minimum bids.

Good luck! Hope things work out for you. The coupes are a little more rare and should attract some interest.

I'm too far away to be able to offer relevant help on values but hope you're soon in employment again and back to enjoying Jaguars.

Good luck.

You should consider replacing the headliner. I have not done this on a Jag, but have on other cars and it is easily a DIY project with a small cost. Foam-backed fabric can be had at the local cloth store/sewing center, along with spray glue.

It is a little time intensive. You have to pull out the top trim covers all the way around, but not too difficult.

A new headliner done yourself will add $$ to the sale. I walked away from an XJ with a sagging top even tho I knew it was easy to fix. Made me question what else they had neglected.

Rev. Sam has a video on changing the A-post cloth and the process is the same...just on a larger piece of board.

Another good site to check relative market value is carsabi.com

Jag#4 makes a good point on the headliner. I talked down the price on my Jeep Cherokee substantially because the headliner was shot.

If you've only had it a few months i would think it would be worth not too far off what you paid for it.
May i ask how much you bought it for?
