Default Problems

This is going to be a long one. I bought my XK8 a couple of years ago and it has several issues most of which I was able to fix, the car runs great I love it very much but I cannot fix the following problem. The ABS light was on when I bought the car so I didn't tell you it would be a good time to put on new sensors, new rotors, new brakes, I replaced the ball joints and all the other bushings and joints that I could find in the front end so everything is new. I believe I made a mistake by taking off the rotors and then taking off the calipers so I can paint them. Anyway went to put everything back together ABS light was still there but now it was joined by transmission fault, incorrect part fitted, limp mode, ABS failure, traction failure.
That's when I started replacing everything trying to figure it out. First thing I went after was a new ABS module which I purchased and put on a car and did not help at all. Then I replaced the instrument cluster because I read somewhere that may be the problem. That did not help at all either as a matter of fact the cluster I put in the speedometer does not work nor the tech nor the temp gauge, oddly enough the fuel gauge works and the cruise works. I have checked every fuse on this thing over and over again I read somewhere that you can reset the device in the left door, some kind of turn off device. I did this and that did not help either. I know a lot of these parts are Ford parts, though the speedometer says forward on it there's Ford written on other things than the thing too. I bought not one but three scanners and all of them say the same thing no code. I really need help with this thing I really love the car but I can't keep throwing money at it. I put on an aftermarket intake system to replace the stock air cleaner, could that have been some of the problem. As far as I know everything else works on the car. I have had the Jay gate out and I believe it is in there correctly. And if I put a screwdriver in the hole the thing shifts and it runs absolutely fantastic. Transmission engine everything runs great. I could use any help anybody can give me with this thing, I'm sort of at the end of the rope

Your's is the classic case of throwing parts at a car, (and a lot of money, of course), without first investigating the cause of the problem. With an ABS light on, the codes that have caused that light can be read and then a possible cure worked out. I have had an ABS light on with tthree cars, two previous Jaguar XJ6, and once on my recently purchased MB SLK. In all cases it was the wheel sensor that supplies info to the ABS module. So did you check this aspect of the braking system ?

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

First off I appreciate your help very much, when I first started doing this I replaced all four sensors, then I saw a code once of the right front sensor not working but I have not seen that code since.
