Default Production Numbers

Hi Chaps

Does anyone know production numbers on the XKR Coupes 03 to 06?
I'm still looking for a coupe. There seems to be precious few about, certainly none local to me. I know its not the time of year when people put their cars on the market, but I always thought there were quite a few sold to the US market.
It would be nice to know the numbers of coupes sold in North America. I did some searching here with no luck.
Any advice / ideas gratefully received.
Thanks in advance...

Thanks Gus
So there really isn't many 4.2L Coupe Rs about then? In fact only about 2200, that's; MGA Twin Cam territory!
I had thought there were many more than that produced. Is the table you posted total production or just North American numbers?

This was by a member and friend HarleyD and I do not have a Nigel Thorley book in hand to verify or to answer your question accurately. All my stuff is in storage.

I'm pretty sure those numbers are for TOTAL worldwide production.

Coupes are far more rare in the US than convertibles. I've got about 6 - 7 convertibles roaming around my town, but I've got the only coupe (that I've seen). I like it that way.

Hey Coupe, I was at the factory in Coventry in June 1996, saw a lot of finished Coupes in the lot awaiting for shipping. I went on the full tour of the plant and assebly line, that is when I knew my next Jag would be an XK8. Turns out the XKR came out and one landed in my garage.
I ended up with a convert but I still think the coupe is still a moving work of art.

I read somewhere that only 10% of the XKs imported to the US were Coupes. I also beleave the coupes are a work of art. The lines of the car are just beautiful, classic.

I guess I'm not normal. I think the lines on the convertible with the top down are just amazing.

Yep, I'm very much a coupe enthusiast, the series 1 E type coupe, XKs and DB7s have got to be the 3 most beautiful car forms ever produced!

I agree...with the top town, the convertibles are amazing. Less so with the top up, in my opinion, which is unfortunately the case with nearly all soft-top convertibles.

Some of the later hard-top foldaways look amazing top up or down, like the current BMW Z4.

You're right, it doesn't look that great with the top up. But top down is one of the most gorgeous convertibles ever made.

You know, I didn't care about the new Cameros at all, but I was at an overpass on my bicycle and saw a convertible one drive up and under me... I was actually impressed how nice it looked.
