Question About Navigation System

Hi,
I am the proud owner of a new-to-me 2002 XKR. I've never had a car with a navigation system before and I had a couple of questions. First, when entering in a destination, it will not show individual streets, just a large map of the area with the destination shown by a bullseye. When I zoom in on the screen, still no detail really shows up. Does this mean that I need an uptated CD?
Also, when my convertible top is down, the latch on the header panel stays up and I get the message "hood not latched". With the top closed the message goes away. Is it normal for the latch to stay up, or should it be out of sight?
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Rob T.

The latch should not stay up.
You might have a leak or air in the system. Check the lever of the line fluid, located on in the right part of the trunk. Pull out the side panel, should be right above the nav unit.

Mine said that one the other day but I think it is because I didn't keep the button down long enough. When I pressed it a second time, it went down, but the message is still there and that was days ago.
