Hi,

I recently bought a 2005 XK8. With the wheels off while doing a brake job, I noticed that one of my front wheels is 8" wide and the other is 9", according to the stamp on the back of the wheel. They both have 245 40 19 tires on them. The rears are 9" wide with 255 40 19's. What is the correct combination with these cars? Mine has the 19" atlas wheels. I'm thinking that a front wheel may have been damaged at some point and one of the front wheels was replaced with the wrong size.

Sounds like one of the front wheels was replaced with the wrong size wheel. The rear wheels are wider than the front wheels (OEM).

 

Check all your rims. Tire shop may have missed the 'staggered' configuration and put the front tire on the rear wheel during install.

Or, maybe you did say you looked at them all, and three are 9", one up front is 8". Did I miss that in translation?
