Default Quick question for coupe owners

When you open/close your doors do the windows lower/raise to make a tight seal just like on the convertibles?

I'm assuming they do but I don't have a coupe so I thought I'd ask...

Hi Seawind,
Yes they do. Unless the battery has gone flat or is dying. It's a great indicator of imminent battery death. Apparently the window control electronics is very sensitive to battery voltage, and failure to remember the window stop positions can mean it needs replacement.

If only I'd acted more quickly...

HTH,
Mike

Yep! They sure do. Pain in the *** when the latch stops working.
It will slightly go down when you open, though will go right back up when you let go of the handle and slam into the body when you close it.
Need to babysit it when waiting to repair it. (Lower the window before closing)

Had to do that fix a few weeks ago. Fortunately it was the passenger side, which is a little easier for the lack of the key lock.

Thanks guys! I replaced the window micro-switch on the driver side of a conv about a month ago. Now the passengers side door lock got stuck locked which looks like a mechanical issue and not a micro-switch. I found the entire door lock from a low mileage coupe and was pretty sure the part was the same but wanted to make sure.

Cheers

It's always the details that make the difference!

Coupe and Convertible use the same Door Latch assembly BUT

1. different options for deadlocking / without deadlocking
2. P/N change with VIN range

Check it's compatible to avoid any strange door lock behaviour.
