Default R Performance Academy - AWESOME !!!

Folks,
I just completed the Advanced Driving Course provided by Jaguar in Monticello Motor Club, NY.
This is simply Awesome !
First you are with professional Instructors, and most of them with serious background (Formula1/2, 24 Le Mans, Indy...).
You start the previous night with a dinner/cocktail so you can learn about the program, and meet with the intructors.
Then the following day, you start at 8am with the theory. Takes ~90 mins.
After this part, and a quick coffee break...serious activities are starting !
~12 brand NEW (2011 XFR !, 2010 XKR), are aligned and waiting for us !!!
Your blood pressure really start to climb !....

You start to get a lap or two with the intructor who explained in detail the features and different modes of the cars.

The rest of the day is driving, driving and more driving....
I was simply impressed how I just didn't know the incredible capacity of my XKR. Simply FAST AND FURIOUS. The Noise of the car is purely superbe.

This class should be a MUST for everyone who purchase an XKR/XFR (and it's FREE - For Information, you can still come if you didnt purchase one, but you will have to pay $1850.00 !).

I have videos that I will try to upload as well.
I knew I had a great car, but now I know it's even better than I thought...I and hope I learned a little bit and will apply to my day to day drive.

I simply regret I will NEVER be able to drive like I did on the track...

Great day.
(I also saw on the parking....FerrariS, Ford GT, Porsche GT3, Cadillac CTSV, and more and more....) - Some "rich" folks are coming by Helicopters, for few hours, and just leave....nice !

Bye
Bruno

WOW - What an experience! Does this occur any other places in this great country? LA, SF, Denver?

How did you find out about it? Thanks for sharing... DaleD

Yes, Jaguar are planning similar classes in Nevada and Florida.
You can go to the Jaguar Web site, and go under the section XKR to see more detail on this "R Performance Academy".
You also may want to contact the Jaguar Concierge at (866) 513-7200 for more detail on when/how to register.
If you have an XKR/XFR 2010, you will need to provide your VIN# to get a free registration, and select the date and location.

Hope it does help.

Sounds pretty awesome. Have you posted any of your pictures or videos up on the Facebook page? I'm thinking about going to the one in August near LA. They have a schedule up at www.jaguarperformanceacademy.com.

I called the concierge and asked about events in 2011. They said in the next month or two, they will post the 2011 schedule to the website.

I don't have a 2010 R, but it seems like a fair price. That is around the going rate for a lot of one-day high performance driving schools, and in most of those you aren't learning on top end cars all day long.

Thanks for the report!

Did you get to autocross the big cats?

I did the driving thing thru Dodge. It was a gift for my son's 21'st birthday.
Vipers, SRT Chargers, SRT Magnums, SRT Caliber, and the SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee. Do not race the SRT Grand Cherokee very fast.

Any way, were you aloud to just cut loose on your own or was it follow the leader style. Meaning you followed an instructor and if it appeared you could handle more speed he would compensated and allow you to chase him at a higher speed?

What ever it was I bet you had a ball driving home. I know I made it home from the SRT Driving Experience in record time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the XJ-13 and XJR-9 pictures on the Facebook page. Did you get to see them while you were there? It says they might be at the next event too.
