Default Racing Stripes

Where to get these exact ones?? These are from a user on this forum who's no longer active. Any ideas?

Likely custom, not many to no companies making stripe kits for XK8/R's.

I recall this vehicle and agree with Jandreu that it's likely a custom job.

The only custom stripe kit for the XK8 I've seen is from AutoTrim Design:

Rally Stripe Graphic Kit 1 for Jaguar XK8 - XKR

Jaguar offered stripes on the XK-R (in 2011, I think) but apparently very few buyers ordered the vehicle with this option.

It's likely been done by masking tape + paint.

I wouldn't worry about "knocking a grand off your car".

It's all personal taste ... and I happen to like that particular
pattern.

They're just vinyl stickers, they come right off with no damage to the paint. Don't be so uptight

These cars are to be enjoyed and customized as the owner sees fit! There are plenty of them out there and they are not now and possibly will never be considered classics, plus they can be had for 5K to 15K depending on year and condition.

Stripes are a highly debatable issue on the 97 to 06 XK8/R...most say no but I'm on the go for it side. I too am looking at doing something along the lines of a stripe but looking for something completely different and unique to my car. I'm a little handicapped by the color of my XK8. I have a Seafoam Green car with a dark green top, the body isn't to bad to match good stripe colors with but to also look good with the top up against the dark green is another story.

Thinking of going with a Dorchester Grey (same as the window and mirror trim color) center stripe with two pinstripes on each side- one Platinum Silver against the main Grey stripe, a space of body color and then a pinstripe in dark green to match the top.

Or

Reverse with silver as the main stripe, grey pinstripe, body color then a dark green pinstripe.

I'm leaning toward the Grey for the center stripe as I have grey/polished wheels and this would promote the Grey accessory theme.

Also I think following the power bulge on the hood, as the stripe in the first post does, is important. A straight line stripe would look very bad.

As long as any striping you choose is completely removable with no paint damage and you are willing to spend the money involved, go for it....

My 1999 Dodge Ram pickup is Bright White. I've thought about putting black irregular vinyl stripes all over it and making it look like a zebra. If someone would give me the temporary vinyl stripes for free, I would do it....

Go for, that's something that would totally go with a 99 Ram

Only if I can source the stripes for free. Not willing to spend any money on something this frivolous....
