The LCD screen on my radio has stopped displaying information so although everything still works it's very much guesswork when entering the code and setting radio stations. The screens are unavailable now so I'm on the lookout for another radio head. There seem to be a few different model numbers for the radio so the question is: To save me taking the radio out to check the part number, is there a way that I can find the part number from the serial number which is in the security booklet?

I took it out today and it looks exactly the same as yours but the number ends in AA not AB.
I'm wondering if it's within my capabilities to change the screen from a spares one with a good screen. I have a feeling that I might end up with 2 wrecked ones so maybe better wait till the right one comes up on Ebay.
