Random beep-beep warning chime
No alert messages, no high oil, coolant, or transmission temperatures. No nothing. Just this obnoxious beep beep. Car not in reverse, so not likely the back up warning. And no OBD-II fault codes.
seems like it happens when it’s hot outside, not extremely not, just in the 90’s (F), at least the a/c has always been in when the beeping occurs, iirc.
thankfully it doesn’t last very long , under 30 seconds, or I’d be 100% bonkers
any pointers on how to track this gremlin down ??

the front speaker, and lasts about 10-15 seconds. .....also, Doors closed, engine running in park or neutral. By the time I can get the shifter into drive, it’s already over.

I would have to fast on the draw, with my old man reflexes I have maybe a 50/50 chance of getting the beeping recorded, I’ll try though.
so far it’s happening maybe 0- 2 or 3 times a month, not very often for a daily driver car. So infrequently that I’m always startled when it comes on. I can’t recall if it happened last winter or when the weather was cooler. I need to start a beep(ing) journal.

at this point I’m thinking that the car in good faith is telling me something needs my utmost attention. But the information flow from the car’s many brains stops at just the loud beep beep beep beep, with no attendant visual warning from the dash and no OBD-II codes either.
at nearly 20 years old, perhaps the XKR’s brains are having a little dementia episode.
