searching the forum I desided the reach motor flexible shart was broken. Following info in forum I:
1. removed the seat.
2. removed under the column trim.
3. slid electrical connectors off column to make access easier to remove 2 acorn nuts from front horizontal column studs. 13mm ratcheting box wrench works best.
4. removed 2 vertical 13mm acorn nuts (deaper socket is best) holding up rear of column by universal joint.
5.This area needs to be lowered off studs so column can be moved towards rear of car so front studs are clear of dash.
Problem: can not pull column off studs. There is a collar holding splined part of column to universal joint. I can loosen bolt that is squeezing collar.
Question: can I slide collar back towards universal joint? This will allow me to lower column off verical studs. once again thanks for any help.
