Hmm.. lots of things to check.

Took everything apart again today. Cannot see that I did anything different between the two sides. I have followed the instructions from the pdf "Rear wheel bearing install PDF" made by one of our forum members.

The troublesome right hand side looked like this after I took the hub and carrier off again












When I measure the distance from the top of the outer race to the edge of the carrier as shown above, it seems to be the distance at both carriers. The same applies to the inner bearing races, same distance at both carrier.

A skilled workshop mechanic did the replacements of the bearing races, so I would'nt expect issues there.

Could it be that the hub nut MUST be tightened to spec to be able to do a meaningful measure of the play?

 

Thanks for your post and subsequent PDF. Followed the procedures you laid out and found them straight forward. I ground down the diameter of the outer smaller bearing race (the old one) to use to press in inner race. Trying to find the exact diameter of the pieces to press in is challenging. I used pieces from front wheel drive bearing and ball joint kits. I had a bit of trouble getting the drive shaft to seat with the speed sensor wheel but finally got it in. Also once the new hub is spun on you can't remove it. If so, you have to back to the nut you'll need a new one.
