So I bought tops on line covers and am in process of getting correct pliers and rings. In taking apart the bottom cushion from rails I am stymied by this connector-how to release it from frame
and what the heck does that pad do.
Looks like the upper part will slide to the left (3). I think I see the clip in the center ( 2) that's designed to hang onto a tiny ridge on the right side (1) of the connector. Then there's a separate, more usual electrical connection at the bottom. Not sure if that helps!

There is a little gap, 1/8 inch wide between connector and slide post. Push down with strong metal tab to push capture pin outward. Recovering can be done without removing this connector. The pad is filled with fluid to trip the switch to indicate presence of passenger.
doing seat bottom, disengage seat from frame, pulling electrical connectors as needed, until you can undo plastic clips holding seat to sliding frame
rotate cushion over to side so you can get to back of seat controls, pry gently up at end of holder at those two holes and the control panel can pop out.
disconnect plug
note leather is stapled to inner plastic housing
Now you can take seat cushion to convenient place and remove hog rings, pull old cover off, install new cover with hog rings and staples
reattach seat to frame, connect and install controls
