2003-2005 is a solid car.. small issues feul pumps and .... can't really think of anything else.. but it is a really solid car.. XKR and Xk8 main difference besides supercharged.is a R does not have VVT . 2003 Rstill had a mercedes box.. and 2004 2005-xkr had a 6 speed ZF slight software issues with it.. but excellent trani

Only other problem is the charger seals leaking. But doesnt happen too often. Great cars. I believe also the S/C vehicles do have different pistons and rods due to the compression difference.

The transmission is a Mercedes Benz box W5A580 for 2000-2003 XKR. After that they got a ZF 6HP26 box.

Supercharger I have no idea. We just put on what Jag sends us.

From my brief research, I thought the 6 speed went into ALL of the xk cars in 2003 (e.g., this review http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...003_jaguar_xkr)

There was a VIN break. Some early 2003 still had the MB box. Was weird. Inside was like a hybrid 2002/2003. Pretty rare though. Most 2003 had the ZF.
