Hi
The remote control on my 1997 XK8 convertible 90000 miles,doesn't work very well,especially when locking the car, when its cold.Opening is better but below about 10c its not happy at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does it depend on the temperature of the remote, or of the car? Seriously. Could be just a marginal battery in there.

 

Try a thorough cleaning of the contacts as outlined in the attachment.

+1 to a new lithium battery also.
