Suprising Discovery Using Engine Restorer

Suprising Discovery Using Engine Restorer
Put in a can of engine restore from auto zone and drove several thousand plus miles and truly confirm yes it works !
The compression all all cylinders rose over 41 psi more total ! Like 5psi more per cylinder.
My power is way up to the sky,
car starts faster, engine runs smoother I cant believe all this from a can.
This is what I bought the large can and added it to my oil change, and I promised to do a test before I posted my results on, so you know its not junk.

I have to say that's not true,it worked as promised, the car has never drove like this.
I had no compression issues, but wanted a product to reduce nik liner wear, ive been testing my compression for months same results, after this product, all the cylinder numbers recorded continued to rise the more miles I put on the treatment, and the car has never felt better and rides way differently.
Use it on your next oil change, you'll love it.

I'm as cynical as the next man regarding "snake oil" products but.........
my car sits for 6 months each year and I came back to cylinder wash so I now add restore at each oil change and since doing so have had no repeat of that problem when starting the car upon my return to Florida. As someone else on the forum said, who's going to argue with a guy named Brutal.

I understood bore wash to be linked with fuel washing the cylinder walls causing temporary loss of compression. Not sure how pouring an additive into the oil will prevent this.
Typically 'Restore' is a last ditch attempt to temporarily regain some compression on a seriously worn out engine.

Hi aode06, I have used Greased Lightening for years, the one you put in the engine oil and I swear by it, so do my friends. However it is getting difficult to buy over here now, and I only have a few cans left. The product you are talking about, is this it BMW Noisy hydraulic tappets? Try AMETECH ENGINE RESTORER & LUBRICANT | eBay
Its a 400mls can?
When I take Thunderbird1 out of his cage in a few weeks I may give it a go and save on my Greased Lightening, how much did you use for your XK8? Are your cans 400mls? Here is a link to a supplier who I may use dependant on the quantity you used, they suggest 400mls/1ltr engine capacity.

Did you adhere to the recommendation?

that's pretty much talkin' the talk and walkin' the walk for most people.

Oh no conversions, I take it 400mls is 16ozs, so only 1 can is needed. The prices are about right for U.S to U.K conversions that is to say twice the price over here.
Its on my list with an x type flip key, to be done asap so everything is in place for unwrapping in April.
Thanks for the Info guys, much appreciated.

No, but I'm biased against any 'miracle in a can'. The difficulties described by others with nikasil engines have nothing to do with your problem.

Cheapest I can find in the U.K is about 65 quid for 3 x 400mls cans or about 50 for a1ltr can. Spoke to a dealer who said the car needs a 1ltr can, wish I lived in the U.S, we just get ripped off so badly over here. There is another product called xado which is supposed to do the same thing, it was designed for Russian tanks apparently, so I was told, its about 25 quid for a one shot treatment, may try this instead.

Then, if one cylinder is weak on a dry compression test but comes up stronger on a wet compression test, it is suggestive of piston ring seal.
If that is the case, then that is one of the applications recommended by Restore.
If your rings are gummed up, the addition of TC-W3 synthetic two stroke oil to your gas in a 1:640 ratio does free them up.

Please watch this video, no more rumors or games here.
I have re tested the compression and all of my cylinders are up more 11 psi each more than before.
I have seen an increase of 4-6 mpg city, instant start up and more power as well.
The nikasil liner is old garbage, they dont put the chemicals is fuel that they use to.
