Default Remote Seat Memory - 2002 XKR?

Quick newbie question: Should unlocking with one of the remotes activate the corresponding seat memory on a 2002 XKR? If so, is additional programming necessary?

Honestly, I've searched the forums for hours and not found the answer, so I presume the answer is "No'. Thanks for your help!

My 2005 XK8 does not. My previous 05 Super V/8 did not as well.

No, you have to push the mem button. I have heard stories of XJ8s that have a bit more advanced functionality then ours in that the seat moves rearward while the steering wheel retracts when key is removed. John

Even pushing the appropriate MEM button is a crap shoot. I am basically the only one that drives the car so the driver's seat is almost never adjusted off of my memory settings. But if I do push the MEM button, the seat will sometimes move into the weirdest position that I have NEVER set (e.g., moves all the way to the front and reclines to some awkward position). I guess it is dust or something else that affects the potentiometers or something.

I don't suppose you have teen-aged kids...

No--my "teenage" son is now 39 (arghhh!) and on his own.
