High pressure line was leaking so time to do them all.. anyone here have ALL their power steering lines replaced? Wondering approx cost...? Other things to consider or look out for?
thank you gentlemen
Some have done home-made repairs instead of the expensive Jaguar lines. Generic lines and worm-gear clamps type of stuff. Might be one of those situations were these expensive quick-connect lines really help Jaguar at assembly time, but are much less valuable to us down the line.
FWIW, keep in mind this system has a cooler in front of the radiator, so there is more plumbing than you would think initially, i.e. $$. I would do the high pressure line (possibly with a factory part) and then check again later if it was me.
Not sure what model you have, but I found the original OEM parts for my GEN1 1999 XK8 weren’t available. Cost wasn’t the issue - f£&king NLA. Leaking at the rubber steel crimps on the line was my problem. Later GEN parts followed completely different route through the engine bay and only this forum showed me how/where.
Managed to get line from PS pump to rack pipe in new route but not the other. My coolant radiator rail was ok, thank goodness, as changing that too would have meant other re-piping route.
