The problem here is that in the UK these cars are worth very little and only have a life as long as the 12-month test certificate so you dont spend money unless you have to .
A 97 Coupe about $ 3500 and a Convertable about $7000. Even later ones can be quite rusty.

Respectfully disagree Piston. The chassis were bad agreed... but if you catch a good one with no under side rust then underseal it and look after it then all is good. The original XK8/R have their faults but they are beautiful cars. I was lucky enough to do that.

You need to take off the sill trim plates (easy) and lift the carpet so they can weld the front floor pans usually from underneath. This is usually in flat plate,if you are looking for a replica of the original floor pan with all the swages then you will pay $$$$
Personally, I would epoxy a plate over that hole in the rear and go around the edge with a mastic gun in a jerky fashion to simulate a TIG weld. Underseal over and spray the underside with black wax
PS Never buy a car from me.
I had a small hole in the floor well that was due to water ingress coming in on a leak through the passenger side window due to the rubber seal being perished. I have a brilliant mechanic, he cut out the rot, welded a new piece in, undersealed it and repaired the rubber door seal. All for 550 quid which included a full 12 month service and done in 1 day. He is a diamond lad and would never be without him now 👍👍

Love the Burghundy colour body, it looks so classy and correct. However I have to say that I am not a fan of 2 tone leather interiors for these type of cars. I just think it is an understated Gentleman's Cruiser . 2 tone leather looks good on a sports car, but on a GT.?... hmm... not so sure. Just my humble opinion. I think the leather seats would look great in just plain black IMHO 👍

The rocker pinch welds are in excellent condition as are the rest of the underside bits. As long as the rear arch is good, this seems like a minor repair. Have a pro remove the adjacent body plug and check the area inside and around and neutralize and seal the rust.
