Default SDD quick guide?

I just purchased and installed (easy) the SDD package/cable from these guys. Buy Now | Jaguar & Land Rover Diagnostics Equipment

It seems that SDD is pretty convoluted, does anyone know if there is a "quick guide" available anywhere?

A bit of messing around allowed me to watch the daylight sensor and the transmission oil temp but it took me a while to get there.

The Introduction to SDD in the IDS-SDD-JLR Training PDF is a good place to start. It's available from the Forum Download Area:

+1. That's the best I've come across.

SDD doesn't make a great deal of sense how things are organized, at least not to the uninitiated.

I think the issue is that it is aimed at directing someone how to make repairs without requiring them to think, thus all of that follow the flow chart nonsense.

Play around, you eventually will get a sense of where things are hidden... And then have to learn it again next time because you don't use it often enough.

It's aimed at people who have been on a course about it and use it all the time. It's not aimed at DIY part-timers.
