I have a problem with my seat modules and can get LJE2160AG modules. The modules in mine are LJE2160AB. Will these work? If not, how come?

When I was after a replacement I was told a later suffix can be used BUT it needs to be from a vehicle with the same options or it would need reprogramming. Based on this, the AG module could replace the AB module.

The advice worked for me but wait for other opinions. I may have just been lucky!

The driver side module must communicate across the CANetwork and not only the part number but the extension (/xxx ) is required. The passenger side does not communicate and I suspect that the range of functional part numbers is much broader.

I need a passenger one also but with two other cars under restoration I am going to let you confirm my thoughts before exploring further.
