I will be changing the power steering pump shortly. I have the procedure for that, but does anyone have a procedure for removal and refit of the drive belt?
It is fairly straight forward. With a wrench/spanner on the tensioner pulley bolt head and push it toward the center of the engine to remove the tension. See attached routing diagram. Piece 4 is the tensioner pulley

many thanks in advance.
Car is 96 XK8
The belt on my 2000 xk8 was pretty tight. One tip for removal and replacing would be to get a serpentine belt tool. The tool is nice and long and makes it easy to get the leverage required. Many auto parts stores will loan you the tool. To make putting the belt on easier the tensioner on my car has no lip to go over so I just put a little silicon on it and with the tool was easy to just slip it on. My reason for changing the belt was a alternator replacement.
I did this, and just an observation - it looks straightforward, but it's amazing how many ways you can thread a belt around those pulleys, but there is only one "right" way !
I replaced what I assumed to be the factory serpentine belt in July 2018 when I had to remove the radiator fan assembly in order to remove the alternator so I could take it in for refurbishing. Much easier to replace the serpentine belt when the radiator fan assembly is out of the way and the hood is raised to the service position....
